The final outcome my well be discarded if I consider it to be an unsuccessful conclusion. The final one, for the moment, shows work continuing on the underneath surfaces where I am beginning to refine the carving by deepening and reshaping woodturners. The initial 3D image was produced some 3-4 months ago and is one of many images available to choose from.

For example not knowing the references for the piece or the processes and time that were involved in the making. It was returned to the screw chuck and I removed the recess. The next image shows the initial carving and is my interpretation of the 3D image, simplified in a way that I feel is appropriate to the material and the size of the piece but keeping the spirit of the image. I started this piece last week and thus far approx. Further hollowing out under the carving is also continuing wood turning. How the 3D image is my reference and starting point for turned/carved wood woodturner. It meant holding the piece in one hand while using rotary tools in the other.

20 hours of work has already taken place. I am always interested to see other turners work but I get frustrated when observing outcomes. Apart from using gouge and scraper on lathe for the basic form, subsequently all the work is being done using rotary power tools, (burrs and miniature cutters of various makes and styles) hand files and sanding. I now had to work on the piece upside down only throughout the initial stages just using the screw spherical chuck woodturning i.
